Time lapse video of the launching of our latest 16m Pilot Boat which now features a resiliently mounted superstructure which lowers noise levels and improves crew comfort.

We are pleased to announce that the New Zealand Maritime Pilot Association has launched its new website www.nzmpa.org.

This operation was carried out as part of a study of the capability of vessels of 142 meters length to enter and leave the seaport of Vyborg in the daylight.

Flying from Shortlands, following the beautiful HM Orc 181 "Nepean" Flying to the very edge of VLOS helped by the elevated position in the carpark, also helped by a good strong coffee from Hesse St! Little known fact, when I was a small child I went out in the Pilot boat from (dad recalls) Gem Pier in Williamstown! I only remember being a bit scared and that's about it. Following the 100% acquisition of Tramarsa Flota S.A. by PSA Marine (Pte) Ltd (“PSA Marine”) on 12 February 2020, the Peru-based marine services operator unveiled its new name and brand - PSA Marine Peru S.A. (“PSA Marine Peru”), effective 19 August 2020.

IMPA is conducting a study to gain significant insights into the current and potential use of "remote piloting" on conventional ships as well as those that may be remotely operated or navigated by autonomous software in the future.

This is a video of the cruise ship pilot boat that picks up the pilot once he has navigated the ship out of the port. This is a requirement of all cruise ships coming into and leaving out of ports. We also noticed them at the Bahamas. I was able to capture this one on my last cruise leaving out of Port Canaveral... watch as the pilot jumps from the cruise ship to the pilot boat while both are moving! :)
