4th Customer Day at NAUTITEC: A Day Full Of Inspirational Speeches And Lectures With The Opportunity To Network

More than 90 guests from the european maritime cluster attended the 4th NAUTITEC Customer Day in Leer on 2nd June 2022, which was hosted by NAUTITEC and supported by the partners of the maritime campus, Faculty of maritime science Sciences Emden/Leer.

Both partners who are cooperating since 2009 just signed a future oriented cooperation agreement and announced the start of cooperation with the new „Technikum“ in ways of the idea of „maritime campus“.

During the sessions, Georg Haase and Rudolf Kreutzer informed about history and evolution of NAUTITEC: 


  • Full Mission Simulator update to enable the simulation of a great variety of ship command devices
  • E-Learning Platform established
  • Nautitec chart service started in May 2022
  • With effect of June 2022 NAUTITEC has been appointed as the European training center for SEAiq Software solutions
  • Simulation of wind assisted propulsion
  • Advanced casualty investigation
  • Nautical risk analysis for Port of Emden
  • Basic and advanced Liquified Natural Gastanker training
  • Several LNG Terminal projects and LNG Emergency Response Training
  • Training for the Central Command for
  • Maritime Emergencies
  • Tugnology – Escort Training
  • Expansion of maritime training courses
The forum included informative presentations from Kongsberg Marine, Ramboll Germany and Wärtsilä.
In the afternoon there was possibility for practical demonstrations in the new Technikum with windtunnel, towing-tank and laboratories before it was time to get together, mingle and network in a relaxed atmosphere with food and drinks.

Article Wärtsilä simulation technology creating an essential testing environment for smart marine solutions

The technology group Wärtsilä has delivered a navigation simulator and specific mathematical models to the Satakunta University of Applied Sciences (SAMK) in the city of Rauma, Finland. These will be used as an essential enabler in the Intelligent Shipping Technology Test Laboratory (ISTLAB) project, which aims at creating a technically precise testing environment for remotely controlled, autonomous vessels. The contract with Wärtsilä was signed in the 4th quarter of 2019.

Article Wärtsilä simulator upgrade will enhance Le Havre pilot operations

The technology group Wärtsilä will supply a complete navigational simulator upgrade for the Le Havre pilot station in France. The intention is to provide the pilot station with a totally new simulator specifically adapted to the requirements of the pilots’ operations. The order with Wärtsilä was placed in February 2020.The new unique visualisation system to be supplied is based on 14 DP projectors, comprising seven main circular and seven ground projection systems. It features a panoramic 350-degree screen.

The pilot boat Lesath brings the harbor pilot to the Allegro. It was windy and the sea was rough, the conditions where not extremely, but the boarding is not whitout risk.
This video is created 2 days after storm Ciara in the Port of Rotterdam. This was also the first day that the containerterminals where open after the storm.
